20 May Walk with me through the dye garden
Growing eco print and natural dye plants without herbicides, a lot of aggressive weeding needs to happen before seeds start to set. I love to leave all the old vegetation on the plants until after the last frost, this provides a safe spot for insects and small mammals to over winter. It’s one of the joys of developing a sustainable textile practice which is close to nature.
Currently we are having fabulous weather here in rural Ireland. I’ve decided to continue working in the garden and defer eco printing for another week or so. However, I will be finishing the ends of a long vintage kimono silk panel in advance of our FORM 10 year exhibition and celebration this coming weekend. Aside from that and getting a much needed haircut, all my time will be spent outside.
