The International Fungi and Fibre Symposium in Gran Canaria

I’m home safely from the International Fungi and Fibre Symposium in Gran Canaria. It was an incredible experience—truly creative, inspiring and filled with new friendships! Over the week, I participated in 5 inspiring workshops, each offering new insights into natural dyeing and sustainable fibre arts. Here’a a quick look at what I attended:

Mushroom Experimental Dying Lab with Alissa Allen
Lichen Dyes with Marina Lamsens and Annie Lens
Morning Field Trip to a Banana Plantation + Banana Fibre Workshop (paper and cord) with PlataneraL
The Kombucha Experiment with Katja Pereira
Bookmaking with Mushroom Inks with Felicia Rice

There aren’t enough hours in the day to write about these properly but I was wondering, would you be interested in a short YouTube video debrief (or two)? If a future live-stream sounds like something you’d enjoy, please comment below and let me know which workshop excites you the most!

I’m very inspired about the possibility of integrating new skills info my dirty pot eco printing practice. Watch this space!
