10 Aug Bootcamp Day 3 – Finding Clothes to Print, Sewing Tips, Bundling Garments & Simple Sculptural Felt
If you’d like to watch all the videos in sequence before the final session tonight please click the relevant links below.
For day 3, I’m going to share some of my top tips about what to look for when finding clothes to transform with botanical printing, give you tips about eco printing yardage for sewing plus discuss my favourite ways of bundling garments and simple sculptural felt.
I’ll also let you know a few of my favourite indie pattern designers whose designs work beautifully for combining eco printed and plain fabric!
“I am a used fabric recycler. I purchase, clean, iron, cut, repurpose and sell used fabrics, to prevent them from going to dumps. I have access to a variety of products. Journal covers are interesting to me, so I started making journals, and found Nicola Browns facebook page and then purchased her book, I am now hooked, and have hooked a few friends to use the dirty pot with me.” Jan Beardsley Ladysmith, British Columbia, Canada
“I have done some wet felting and eco printing on wool scarves and silk scarves as well. However, the process was never quite clear to me. A friend of mine introduced me to Nicola Brown, I purchased the eBook, read it, and a whole new understanding of the process became clear to me. Along the way I had some questions and Nicola answered them right away. I did set up my dirty pot, did printing on wool and silk, the results were absolutely phenomenal. Thanks so much for sharing, I have so much more to learn, but thanks to you Nicola, I am on the right track, I have solid information.” – Juliane Ketcher Lakeside, Montana
“Learning such as lot from Nicola Brown at Clasheen, enjoy her approach and views on sustainable practise” – Barbara Manning, South Africa
“I love to learn new techniques of fiber arts. Nicola’s teaching style makes it very easy to follow and take the skills learned to the studio or home to set up to try yourself. She is a master of wool felting and on top of that an expert in botanical printing!” – Karen Dillman, Alaska USA
That’s it for now, I really look forward to ‘seeing’ many of you again tonight. Don’t be shy with your questions and don’t forget your pen and paper so that you can take notes!
