15 Aug Launch Update & Weld & Comfrey dying!

Here’s a blast from the lockdown past, natural dyeing using home grown weld and comfrey. The weld gives such vibrant yellows and the comfrey warmer more subtle shades. Unless a dye plant gives substantive prints (colour and light fast) I always mordant my fabric, PAS for silk and AA followed by a chalk dip for linen. I also work in a reactive pot as I’m happy to have the metal influence the colours achieved!
